HELP TO BUY

The Government Help to Buy scheme has helped thousands of people get on the property ladder and buy their home by offering a contribution towards the initial purchase. This means that they continue to own a percentage of their home. You may decide that you wish to buy back some, or all of the Help to Buy share of your home. If you do, you will need a RICS Help to Buy Survey (also known as a Help to Buy valuation Report).

SHARED EQUITY VALUATION

A Shared Equity valuation or otherwise known as a Shared Ownership valuation needs to be carried out by an RICS Registered valuer to provide a market value for the sale or purchase of your percentage share in your property. All Shared Ownership schemes are likely to be managed and owned by a Housing Association.

DISCOUNT MARKET SALE (DMS)

Discount Market Sale (DMS) – also known as Council Shared Equity or reduced market value scheme – is a low cost home ownership product where you can buy a new build or existing property at a discounted price from a local council participating in the scheme in collaboration with developers (who are often housing associations).
